The Department of Music Studies of the School of Philosophy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, presents
a unique tribute to Greek poetry set to music, in a place where music and the spoken word resonate with the primordial power of memory: the Ancient Theatre of Orchomenos, Arcadia.
Against the backdrop of this historic stage, and with deep respect for its cultural aura, students of the Department of Music Studies will perform works by major Greek composers who set to music the verses of iconic figures of Greek literature.
The event aims to highlight the timeless dialogue between poetry and music, as two interwoven expressions of aesthetic and emotional experience.
