The Malliaros Carnival, one of the most distinctive traditional revivals with strong Dionysian character in Messinia, reaches its peak over the weekend of 21–22 February 2026.
The event is organized by the Cultural Association of Manganianiko Locals Worldwide and includes:

the revival of the myth of “Malliaros”,
-
participation of bell-wearers, traditional music, and bonfires,
-
a carnival parade with satirical floats and rich folkloric elements,
-
a festive gathering with local delicacies in the courtyard of Manganianiko Primary School.
